I might try and talk up some of my 'middle -lower' end players and see if someone offers me the world for them.
Bangers v Vipers Grand Final it is.
I guess, on the other hand it might help me sneak into 9th place this year.

Re: The Warthogs / Vipers mega trade discussion
FWIW...Milnee made me an offer: Scott Selwood for Lenny Hayes, Jarryd Roughead and Bernie Vince (who I dont have...but could get him haha).
To get Swallow AND Selwood for that package of trinkets is the funniest and most creative trading I've seen in a long loooong time.
Hats dipped to the genius.
ps - Seriously: have you taken your hand off it yet Jase? You'd be creamed up surely?

FWIW I really think you guys are under rating a few of the players Milnee picked up.
He picked up 3 19 year old kids who are already putting good numbers on the board not to mention Lewis who is a gun and Duffield is a handy player as well.
This trade sets him up beautifully for the long term with 5 players to build around. Sounds like a win win to me

Don't talk shit Jase.
You just prized two blokes who would go 1 and 2 if they were available in this years draft.
He now has to hope that someone from the bunch you gave becomes elite like (particularly Swallow) they were.
Lewis is a gun? At what?

and if one of those guys turns into a gun, he will trade them off looking for the next big thing...
The Warthogs / Vipers mega trade discussion
Harley Bennell is a sure fire, cant miss, gonna be a star player.
I bet in a few years time we will all laugh at how I gave the kid up. Not sayin this just to be nice, but I did not want to trade that kid, but couldnt pass up the chance to get Swallow and Selwood.

Re: The Warthogs / Vipers mega trade discussion
Silly buggers.
You said all this after my trade with the Maulers, then later changed your tune.
Milnee has opted to rebuild his team, so why not strike why his two best players are hot?
I would have thought it more judicious to sell each player separately but I guess this saves a lot of mucky trading.
So....who's up for a trade then?
btw, trucker, I hate seeing that word used in these discussions.
That act is a violent criminal offence and should not be a word to be bandied in discussions on trivial matters.
Just my 2c worth.

Finally a voice of reason. Well said Gerry.

I am. Im now looking to trade off another of the best young prospects in the game, Dylan Shiel. Not after a keeper, but would expect a decent player in return for this gun. Preferences are first Goals or second Marks.

I would gather that you might have a surfeit of tacklers now Jase.
Any of those on offer?
I do like Shiel though.

Re: The Warthogs / Vipers mega trade discussion
Nah sorry Gerry all my tacklers will be played in my team in either tackles or AS.
Like always you have a good eye for young talent gerry, Shiel will be a gun. All I want in return is a goal kicker. Doesnt need to be a keeper, im only looking for some depth.

So a lot of hot air about this trade, a lot of threats, statements about past incidents and spirit of the game.
But no actual action plans....
If you want the Exec to do it's job, you have to do more than bitch...

When is there a trade where it doesnt provoke mass hysteria? We are our own worst enemies when it comes to trades. We all wish people would make more but can you really blame people when we get these types of reactions?
FYI for those playing at home 2 of the 19 year old kids Milnee picked up managed these stats today:
Bennell 25 disp
Treloar 25 Disp, 6 marks, 1 goal, 6 tackles, 79 AS
Not a bad trade afterall.............
