Provisional Results for Round 16
Some big scores...and heartache
Vipers 413 d Predators 344
Not sure the massive trade between these two made much difference but Vipers are back to their winning ways.
Big 96 point game from Rory and a good all round team effort accounted for the rest of the score. The new goal-kicker for the Predators, Sam Day, scored a few for the team but there wasn't much else to get excited about.
Ridgebacks 312 def by Tigers 373
Tigers keep their finals hopes alive with nice win over the old enemy. New Tigers heart-throb, Ben McGlynn did well as did Harry Taylor?! Not much happening at the Ridgies. No wonder he wants to dump his whole team!
Gladiators 426 def Maulers 381
This has to be a win for the ages. Despite losing Redden, Ball and Hayes before the game AND Ablett during the game, the premiership favourites dug deep and tackled their way out of trouble. Tom Rockliff rockets to One Heart leadership on the back of another great game for the Maulers although the coach has a few holes to fix on the road to the finals.
Terriers 433 d Warthogs 363
Some concern before the last game and then up steps Stevie J to wipe away any uncertainty. Warthogs needed a bit more from Selwood - 11 tackles just wasn't enough!
Mustangs 402 d Bangers 400
The close one for the weekend. Another big score from the Bangers goes unrewarded and it included huge games from Jimmy Bartel and Luke Parker. Mustangs had 11 goals from her goal kickers - figures not seen since the JB glory days.
Final five still up for grabs with two rounds to go...and in other news, please read Jase's open letter to the league.
I think if we want this competition to survive beyond 2014, we need to respond to his suggestions. Pronto!
