All good things come to an end.
Thanks for the fun, friendship and rivalaries over the years guys. It is time to pull up stumps and move on. I appreciate the commitment required to be part of this league and have enjoyed every minute of my involvement. Unfortunately I can't commit myself fully to this great game and I respect the game too much to play in a compromised manner . I will miss the game and all that goes with it, perhaps more than many of you think. Goodluck to all in season 2010. Long live the All Star Fantasy Football League.

Re: All good things come to an end.
I don't say this often, but here it is: fuck it.
I am truly sorry that this has happened although I accept your decision and the sentiments behind it.
As somebody who worked pretty closely with you (in a footy sense), I have long admired your footy acumen, how you managed to pull magical teams seemingly out of your arse, and your willingness to smack anything that comes your way straight back "over the bowler's head" (Visions of you in the staff room playing cricket immediately come to mind).
The league won't be the same without our inaugural premier and, although this reads like a eulogy, I for one hope that you are able to maintain contact in one way or another.
Maybe you would like to control the Draft Computer one year?
Cheers, mate, thanks for the memories.

Re: All good things come to an end.
I am sorry to hear this news.
You have been and always will be a great part of the League.
What you say is correct though, with people like Croz and Gerry who spend hours getting the game right, it isn't fair to them if your heart isn't in it. Further, it just becomes messy if you try to play it half hearted.
Life changes and new doors take you to new and even better places, something we have all learned over the last few years.
I don't know what else to write...a tad shocked, but then not either!
The Heroes were always my fiercest foe. Some fair battles there! It's a shame it's all over because I was interested to see how you may have rebuilt your list.
I will say this though; you did renege on that Pavlich for BJ deal and equally I did agree to do Ben Johnson and Josh Fraser for Nick Dal Santo and reneged. You were one tricky scandalous piece of work...and I loved that. I stitched you up with Gardiner though! Do you remember that deal...when you marched out onto the Netball courts to protest?
I hope you get the chance to post on here occasionally! If you remember your password.

Andy I appreciate that you might not believe this thanks to our recent exchanges, but I am sad to see you leave. I have always said that I wanted a motivated energized Hero to take part in the league and I stand by that. Its a shame that I entered the league too late to see you at your best.

this is a massive loss to the game and I dont mean to sound ungrateful by my next question, but
does that mean all the heroes are in the draft???

We need to discuss this further.
I would prefer someone else came in and took the list.
Might be hard...less than two weeks til draft!!!

Re: All good things come to an end.
rather than look for people who might be interested, put the squeeze on the others to really committ otherwise give them a 'no hard feelings' exit option. reduce the teams and add players to the draft

Maybe...but that disadvantages those who locked in top tier players if the draft becomes deeper.
Besides, who else would walk?

Hey i haven't died. You won't get rid of me that easily. Perhaps i will be a Robert Walls, Mike Sheehan type character and analyse the game, coaches and teams each week. Thanks for the kind sentiments. I miss the game already.

LOL Andy ive actually had that signature for the last 2 years as I knew that my strategy was a long term approach and I had no chance in my first few seasons. To be honest I had forgotten all about it as I never read my own posts.
That said, while the premiership is a bit of a stretch, I do think Gibbs is one of a handful of players that can with the OHM this season.

Re: All good things come to an end.
I wish. Nah I have a few too many players that need another year to develop.
Depending of course on the draft but I think the top 4 will be Gladiators, Ridgies, Maulers and Bangers. Too much class in those 4 teams retainees, and with the shallow draft I dont think any of the other teams will be able to draft well enough to knock one of those teams out.
