Re: Results Rnd 18 (Final)
Games scores:
Wolves 327 def by Terriers 419. Despite a lazy 99 All Star points from Buddy, Dal Santo, Howlett and Goddard do the job for the Terriers. Special mention for one D. Cross who got knocked out in the second quarter whilst on 70 All Star points.
Tigers 383 def by Ridgebacks 407. This was a close match all weekend with the Tigers basically losing it in the ruck. Ridgebacks holding a little in reserve with Swan, Hodge and Mitchell all sitting pretty in possessions.
Heroes 379 def by Warthogs 390. The AWOL Warthogs coach gets two in a row on the road thanks to Scott Selwood and Bazza. The Roo's 109 All Star points weren't enough for the Heroes to win but might help him up the One Heart ladder.
Vipers 443 def Raptors 335. Vipers looking strong at the pointy end of the season. New addition Goodes is making his mark - hope he does it every week, Jase! Raptors looking to 2012 - I hope!
Gladiators 415 def Mustangs 347. Another top four team flexing it's muscles in time for the finals. But, oh, no - watch out for that poison chalice that is minor premiership, coach Crozzle! Mustangs spiraling out of finals contention.
Maulers 361 def by Bangers 441. If Bangers didn't win this after scoring 98 points from their goal-kickers, I think there might have been an enquiry or a swabbing at least. I propose we swab anyway. Good to see the Maulers able to submit a full team. Just in time for the finals.
Interesting that the (now) top four teams all scored 400+ points. Talk about making a statement...

I cant win it this year.
I cant see anyone stopping Croz.
BTW...Shannon, you should be happy with Hawkins and Deledio...both had great games!
why couldn't Hawkins do that for me FFS!

Did you know Jordy Mac had 10 tackles to 1/2 time!
He would look good in a Gladiators guerney.

I agree Macca. There are a few teams on their day that can go with Croz, but not too many teams have the game breakers like he does.

Have to agree here. Vipers for Premiers.
Must be a great feeling after spending so much time building, scheming, undermining, sledging, ....
Oh, wait, I'm thinking of the Ridgebacks...

Mind you, if you look at the Stats Categories, Gladiators are very high in All Star, Possessions, Tackles and Hitouts.
Not so great in Marks and, would you believe it, worst in the league for goals.

Re: Results Rnd 18 (Final)
Let's just wait and see what the actual AFL clubs 'resting policies' do to our form shall we?
Its always great news when AFL teams rest players in the weeks leading into their finals (ie our finals!).
It will play havoc again.

I'm not so sure that this will happen as much this year (although I have just read that Hawthorn will be resting Rioli).
I think the bye has ensured that players will get enough of a rest.
However, I still intend to plan for 'unplanned', late withdrawals of key players.

Re: Results Rnd 18 (Final)
I dont think many top teams will look at resting players, the exception being Collingwood. If you look at the top 4 teams, Geelong and Carlton still have a bye to go.
Hawthorn may rest a few since their last bye was round 17 and if they can secure a top 4 spot then its likely they'll rest in batches.
Collingwood is the worry though. Their last bye was in round 13 and with a top 2 spot sewn up im sure they will employ a resting policy.
