Round 11 Final scores
Despite the shenanigans with Google Spreadsheets, the scores are basically correct.
Warthogs (Adelaide FC) 205 def by Tigers 349.
It just gets worse for the hapless Warties. Are they the Demons of our league? The whole team had nothing really. Even Dom Cassisi is starting to get depressed - only 2 tackles! Tigers on the other hand must love Jobe Watsonia although Jarryd Blair is also putting his hand up. Great move with a certain K Hunt in ruck.
Raptors 357 def Mustangs 335.
Raptors with 11 starting players missing has done well with Joel Selwood and Sharrod Wellingham starring. Brent Renouf did well for the Horses but did not get any support from his team mates - except for Cotchin. You must be ruing that trade, Jase. At least you kept it in-house!
Bangers 319 def Terriers 300.
Terriers could not pull another "Woody" miracle out of the bag this week. Except for Jude "I'll retire in 2020" Bolton, there wasn't much happening for the Bangers either. However, who cares? He got the four points and is comfortably on top of the league...in June.
Ridgebacks 347 d Vipers 275.
Vipers bitten by the bye and only had 13 players to choose from so this score was expected. Dayne Beams is starring for the 'Woods and the Ridgebacks. It will be interesting to see how the Ridgies go when Collingwood have the bye.
Gladiators 368 def Heroes 330. Not bad scores given the stupidity of the byes. Steele Sidebottom obviously got much better and smashed out a BOG score of 99 All Star points. [I is also happy - he is my Dream Team captain.] Nick Riewoldt also putting his hand up at the home of the Hero - he might be due for a promotion!
Wolves 357 def by Maulers 367.
Another bad luck story for the Wolves. Great move to put Ryder in ruck - he was on 5 at quarter time and ended up with 41 hits! Maulers too good allround. Bad luck about Didak - another injury to Collingwood. Are they jinxed this year?
Just for fun here are the top six scoring teams:
Gladiators
Maulers
Raptors
Wolves
Tigers
Ridgebacks
So only the Wolves would have been the beneficiaries under the suggested "top six are winners" scheme. Oh well!
BTW - these scores remind me of the days when getting 340-360 was considered brilliant!
