Re: Spartans retainees - discussion
They do kinda pick themselves but I must admit I have changed my mind on that last bottom tier pick quite a few times.
I couldnt make up my mind between Hentschel or Jesse Simth, and then when I heard that Griffin has had a great pre-season it threw me into more hesitation.
But goal kickers is probably the hardest position to fill in a team, so that swayed my decision in the end. Especially as Trent is actually taking part in a full pre-season for the first time since 2006.

Re: Spartans retainees - discussion
Tex still doesnt have the body yet mate for a full season of AFL footy. Look at last season, he faded at the end of the season. The kid only turns 20 this year he needs at least another pre-season.
Besides dont under estimate a fully fit Trent. He hasnt done a full pre-season since 2006, and proved despite not playing since 2006 he can still kick goals in a team that he is no longer the #1 option up front.

Dunno about if he is a woob woob.
I actually thought I would get more stick over selecting Clinton Jones over Chris Knights.

I do agree with this...
I would have thought Knights would have been the perfect x factor for your team. You have plenty of 21 year olds.

Surprised a bit now you mention it.

Re: Spartans retainees - discussion
No reason why Hentschel and Walker and Tippett cant all play in the same forward line. Hentschel already proved he doesnt need to be the focus in the forward line to kick goals.
In fact I read he was (in the games he played) the Crows 3rd most used option in the forward line last season. Proving he is an opportunist who knows where the goals are.
Lets not lose sight of the fact that during an AFL season there are injuries, so who knows what might happen to the Crows forward line? For mine he is the right choice with the players I had to choose from.

Yes you are right, but the way I looked at it was tackles was one of my major weaknesses this season. If I selected Knights over Jones I would have zero retained tacklers in my team.
I want flexibility in the PSD to be able to select the best player available as opposed to filling needs. So with that in mind I thought it was more important to take Jones for the balance of the team.
