Any ideas on when this will be held and the rookie draft?
We usually have it before the NAB cup starts, which is Feb 11, which isnt that far away......

Re: PSD
Does it need to be a Friday? If so...the 4th or 11th look like obvious choices.
Other nights I can be available for are Thursday and Saturday. However, Saturday would be impossible to get all together as no doubt some would have plans on the weekend (dinners etc).
Lets get the discussion started.

The 11th would be better as I have taken 2 weeks off from work and the 4th is my first week back so I might have trouble getting a half day off. But if necessary I can call in sick if its the only date that suits everyone else.
Fridays would probably be the best day as it might suit more people. Personally I would love it to be a Saturday afternoon deal, where we could have the draft & perhaps a BBQ etc. But finding a location and a date where everyone is free might be too hard.

We talk every year about moving from Friday but I can't see any other day being popular.
That said, I will defer to the Exec to make the call.

BTW I have seen at least 15 banana kick goals in 2010 better than that soccer goal in your signature Peeeezos.
Leon Davis does one of them a week and cant even make the starting team at CFC.

i know youre baiting...but i'll bite...
2 things...
1 - its easier to 'banana' kick an egg shaped ball
and
2 - the essential element which makes aussie rules easier to play... HANDS!!
BTW - that roberto carlos free kick is used to study physics at secondary level....

See thats where you are wrong...it is not 'easier' to banana an egg shape ball at all. It requires expert application of skill and the hands complicate things. Kicking across your body like Carlos Montana or whatever his name is a natural skill that anyone can do.
Soccer skills are fundamental kicking skills. The egg shape ball gives our version of football a seriously unique set of demands.

i challenge you on the day of the draft..... i'll bring a ball from both codes and we'll shoot it out O.K. Corral style.....
i started playing footy as a youngster and switched at the age of 10, youve told me it was the other way round for you - seems a fair challenge.
dont you go back peddling now.....

So I presume the 4th is also out.
The next date is the 18th of Feb. - Round 2 of the NAB Cup (School Week 3).
I'm available.

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but the 4th is no good for Josie and me unless we can find a baby sitter for Sienna. My parents who would normally do the job as they live around the corner for us are away.

Are we back to the Friday the 18th?

We could do the 18th, and ask all coaches not to watch the games, read the paper, ask anyone for information on the games or check the internet?

Re: PSD
OK guys we need a commitment.
3.00am, one seedy bar or dark lane, sometime before the season begins.
Having said that I am not available on the 11 or the 18th so for me the 4th is still the most viable option. Or Saturday the 5th.

I won't be in Adelaide on the 5th.
Perhaps we should all just have the year off and set a date NOW for the PSD 2012?

Re: PSD
okay I can potentially get out of my commitment on the 18th. I will not however do that until you guys on the Exec canactually say it will be on that date. I will be disappointed if I rearrange things and then we don't have it on the date.Macca wrote:I am no good 18th Feb. Sorry.
My own belief is that you guys need to email everyone and get dates that people CAN'T do and then choose a date with that in mind.
This process happens every year... Those who visit the board to and fro over dates, come to agreement then a person who doesn't visit the board says "sorry... No can do" and were back to square one.
All this requires is someone to open full communication with everyone and then a logical deduction process.
Let's just get on with it ey?
