Results for Round 8
Again, another amazing round resulting in a clear premiership leader:
Warthogs 306 def by Ridgebacks 438.
Despite a phenomenal 101 AS score from Swallow, the rest of the Warties team could not match the power of the Ridgebacks (aren't they used for hunting pigs?). Scott Pendles and James Kelly were the standouts although, an injury to Swan soured the win. This will test your reserves, Ridge.
Tigers 422 def Bangers 345.
Bangers either win easily or wilt. Brett Deledio is now 'elite' according to his coach and his 114 AS score proved it. Sergeant Schutz's seven goals were handy. Eddie Betts held goal-less and the Twin Shrimps had a day off so it is back to reality for the May premiership favourite.
Raptors 408 def Maulers 364.
Raptors used Shuey in AS and this was a winner. The Wrapper scored 408 and got three points from his goal-kickers! Nathan van Berliner is putting his AS hand up again, Mr Mauled. You might just have to keep him there.
Gladiators 368 def by Mustangs 417
Finally, Mustangs win legitimately and sending a warning to all other coaches: JB, and the Mustangs, are back! Trent Cotchin is not bad either! Dan Hucklebury, Gaby Arlett and Steele Sidebottom (no need to change his name) did their best for the Gladdies but it wasn't enough.
Wolves 212 (no typo) def by Terriers 354.
I take no pride in this win particularly as the Wolves sink to an all-time low score (I think). Lance Franklin made this score look good! Not much more to cheer about on the Terriers benches either. Might be time for our annual fire sale...oh, wait, that's started already.
Heroes 311 def by Vipers 375.
Brad Ebert can't hide the huge holes in the Hero's hideous...team (damn, I couldn't think of a word for 'team' starting with 'h'). Vipers return to form with a nice win on the back of Josh Kennedy. Is he favourite for the One Heart. (Hint: no).
Time for Round Nine. Only a few more rounds until the first of the byes.
Hope your team is hitting it's straps - could be an easy 12 points up for grabs.

Andy has...he picked up Q Ball and Duigan in a trade.
That should have worked...cant work out how he didn't win with those two champions.

Re: Results for Round 8
i have offered one coach 3 players (s)he can retain in each tier for a gun....
collectively, they would be better off.....
i mean i have the best performing young rookie drafted in the middle tier and no-one has approached....

Yes Kyal has strung together some great games and looks like a real gem. But he turns 25 this year so not sure if he fits the bill of best young rookie player.

Re: Results for Round 8
Haha yes I have a dilema there as I want to keep Shiel as I like what I see from him as well.
Its a bit early to tell but I am definitely keeping Josh Kennedy, Clinton Jones and Toby Greene. Which means I can only keep one of
Jack Grimes
Leigh Montagna
Harley Bennell
Jordan Lewis
Which means I have some guns available for trade from my middle tier as well as a very handy player in Paul Duffield. Any teams looking to rebuild or add an extra piece to their team would be crazy not to approach me. Tacklers and Markers are what I need most

Wow. What a dilemma!
This is one of paradoxically great things about our league.
We want to pick up good players as soon as we can but at some stage we will have to delist some of them.
That means other teams can pick up four good players...so, thanks, Jase!

Re: Results for Round 8
Whilst what your saying is true you have forgotten 1 key point :
You will NOT pick up those guys in the middle tier again.
That is the reason why they are attractive trade baits as they will all be top tier players if they go back into the draft. Why risk someone else drafting them before you and in a higher tier when you can get them today?

Geez Jase...your building up of those players seems to have worked!
Cant wait for the discussion re: your trade with Warthogs!
