Which player....
Although there is a risk I will get no reply...
Which player on your list...
1. Excites you the most in 2010?
2. Worries you (injury, age, change in role, loose behaviour)?
3. Is absolutely critical (ie will not be traded so don't even bother asking!)?
4. Is on his last chance (perform in 2010 or its bye bye baby!)?
Let's get a bit of discussion going.

Let's get a bit of discussion going.
For the Ridgebacks...
1. Excites you the most in 2010?
Tom Swift, a little known midfielder from the WCE. This kid was labelled the very best mid in the land as an under 16, racking up 40+ possession games in the Under 16 Australian Championships. He did his knee as an under 18 and as such, slipped back in the 2007 AFL draft. I reckon he could be the gem of my list.
2. Worries you (injury, age, change in role, loose behaviour)?
My most worrying player is Matthew Pavlich. I gave up a lot for him, and his 2009 was just ordinary. I will watch him closely. I have concerns he may not be what he was circa 2006.
3. Is absolutely critical (ie will not be traded so don't even bother asking!)?
Well there are a few, but the two that strike me as being 'un-tradeable' at this point...are Shaun Higgins and Joel Selwood. Both have amazing skill, are young, are genuine top end talents in the AFL and...have yet to deliver their best. If I had to choose one, I think Shaun Higgins, at pick 24, is potentially my best player. His numbers are at times incredible. Given he spent most of 2009 with a groin injury, that makes me cream my jeans.
4. Is on his last chance (perform in 2010 or its bye bye baby!)?
Easily Ryan Griffen. It's been too many promises for too long. Looks like a Rolls Royce, threatens to be a Hyundai. It's 2010 or bust for him and the Ridgebacks.

Re: Which player....
1. Excites you the most in 2010?
This is a tie.
Cale Morton is 20 years old on Monday and finished Rnd 22 (our Grand Final) with 36 possessions and 10 marks. Averaged nearly 23 disposals and 7 marks in 2009 from 21 games. No wonder Jase has been trying to get him off my hands! At pick 26 he wont be going anywhere fast.
Jack Ziebell is 19 years old in a couple of weeks. Much has been written about this 'future leader' at North Melbourne. Unfortunately he broke his leg in Rnd 12, but has shown great potential in possies, marks and tackles. Has been given Adam Simpson's number 7 guernsey so they must think this kid can play!
2. Worries you (injury, age, change in role, loose behaviour)?
A no-brainer....the Fev. Will the change to Brisbane be good for him? Will he work well with J. Brown? Will he stay off the grog? Only time will tell.
3. Is absolutely critical (ie will not be traded so don't even bother asking!)?
Another easy one. Gary Ablett. Averaged nearly 34 possesions, 1.2 goals and 4.2 tackles per game in 2009, he is by far the best player to have worn the Gladiators Football Club gurnsey. Oh, and he is at pick 6...thanks Mustangs!
4. Is on his last chance (perform in 2010 or its bye bye baby!)?
A tough one, but Luke Ball would need to perform better this year, or at least stay in the starting 22 each week! Still...he is only 25 years old and has averaged over 5 tackles per game for the last 6 years, and he is at pick 22..he could be a great trade offer should the need arrive. However, I cant see that happening as Luke is the heart and soul of the GFC. Surprisingly has been with the club since the 2 premierships and has played in none of them. Very Modra-like.

Looks like he might be a bit loose though (see link below). Which does surprise me...
ps - Fascinating that L Ball has been at GFC the whole time for no flags! To think you nearly gave him to me as a sweetener once.

Oh dear! Surely he would have his privacy settings adjusted so the whole freakin world cant see his posts!
Sounds very loose indeed.

For the Spartans...
1. Excites you the most in 2010?
Im probably biased as im a Crows supporter, but for me its two Crows players.
First is Kurt Tippett. The improvement in his game last season was great to see, especially as I drafted him at pick 29 a few seasons ago. He really started to put it together last season, and lets not lose sight of the fact that he is only 22.
The 2nd player is Patrick Dangerfield. It was an inspired choice to take him in his draft year at pick 35. Whilst super young (19) he has shown glimpses that he is someone to watch in the future.
2. Worries you (injury, age, change in role, loose behaviour)?
Trent Cotchin. The guy is all class and if healthy will be a gun. Close 2nd is Gumbleton. Another high AFL draft pick with a ton of raw talent. Needs to stay fit so he can get some games under his belt.
3. Is absolutely critical (ie will not be traded so don't even bother asking!)?
Im going to surprise no one here by saying Gibbs. He just does it all. There is no better 20 year old in our game.
4. Is on his last chance (perform in 2010 or its bye bye baby!)?
Sam Butler. I have drafted him in the last 3 seasons (once when I was helping Josie) and had a return of 21 games. And 16 of those were from last season. He had better have an injury free pre-season and start regaining what I saw in 2006. However, I have my doubts, but cant let him go in case it bites me in the ass.

Re: Which player....
For the Truckers
1. excites me the most?
Nicholas Naitanui - will be a developing ruck forward that could tear games a part. wont be the best stat getter this year but will develop nicely. i need cox to get injured to get real value.
Jarred Brennen also - can get big numbers and I think will come of age and be consistent in 2010
2. worries me?
Sean Rusling - I have held him this long, I would like the shoulders to be good and he kick a few goals
3. is absolutely critical?
Sam mitchell and leon davis. when they are on fire, truckers get good wins
4. last chance
sean rusling - i cant keep carrying him. travis varcoe i though he would do a little more

As you will read....he has been training at Full Forward.
I expect him to play well in 2010.

Which player on your list...
1. Excites you the most in 2010?
Jack Grimes. He could be anything - as long as Melbourne pulls it's collective finger out.
2. Worries you (injury, age, change in role, loose behaviour)?
I could name the whole team here but let's just list some of them:
Alan Didak - who knows what he could do this year. Just stay off the piss...
Drew Petrie - says he'll be playing at centre-half forward but might end up at full back.
Kane Cornes - how many times is he going to pull out of a contest before Port get sick of him...and it goes on.
3. Is absolutely critical (ie will not be traded so don't even bother asking!)?
Shaun Higgins, Joel Selwood. Bugga. Nobody. However, it will take a hell of a crowbar to get Hodge, Goddard or Grimes off me. Feel free to try though.
4. Is on his last chance (perform in 2010 or its bye bye baby!)?
Quinten Lynch - what the hell is he going to do this year?
Nick Malceski - says he is burning down the training track
Matthew Bate - the bait for Pendles. He will either burst through this year or get injured.
Ahhh...it's going to be an interesting year.

Re: Which player....
FWIW Gerry, Bate will be a good player I think.
Will he ever be Master Bate? I don't know.
BTW, Hodge is a gun in the real game...but he is a spudly more often than not in ours.
Grimes is your blue chip.

I have seen Bater when he fires and he looks good.
Hodge is great in possessions - should he EVER start tackling or go forward - well, I'm thinking Bartel....
